1. Two of our grandchildren came and stayed over and we had a nice time playing in the snow.
2. We went over to Leicester and had a lovely Indian meal with our son and his girlfriend. We went to a wonderful Indian restaurant called Kayal which he knows because it is a venue for Leicester Comedy Festival which he has been associated with for a long time. The meal was superb and if you are ever in Leicester I recommend you try it. Rob and Peter had Sea Bass and said it was delicious and I had a very nice curry. The staff know Rob and are really, really pleasant.
Peter and I always look at cutlery in a restaurant. This is because we are biased I know but we always feel that it says a lot about attention to detail and customers like cutlery which feels good to hold in the hand and looks good on the table. Kayal's cutlery is lovely quality and speaks volumes.(No one paid me to write this by the way!!! or gave me anything I just really enjoyed the meal.)
.We walked down to Maddison's ice cream bar for dessert. This is a lovely idea and I am suprised that town centres do not have more of them. They do Italian style ice cream and delicious gateaux and coffees of all kinds. No alcohol.
Also, I have booked to take Rob's step daughter, (our bonus grandchild) and our little grandaughter to see the Chinese State Circus for their birthdays next month. Their birthdays are just a few days apart and mine is too so the three of us will celebrate together while the rest of the family is at the football match.
Finally, as if this isn't enough already, Peter has agreed to do the meal planning and cooking next week and I am taking over some of his jobs in the business for a week. So a bit of role reversal!
