I thought it was going to be a problem when I saw how many sausages he bought but now I know why. We had our grandchildren and son in law for dinner after the football match and he had made a sausage and bean casserole with apricots in it and it was just right. It was completely polished off and was easy, delicious and popular with the children. So I will put the recipe on the blog later.

His meal plan goes from Saturday to Saturday and is as follows::-
Saturday (for 2 boys and three adults) Sausage and bean casserole, peas, carrots. Dessert: he made home made yogurt with forest fruits and he baked, YES, HE BAKED, this Madeira cake.

Monday. Italian Beef Casserole. Home made yogurt and forest fruits.
Tuesday. Italian Beef Casserole. Home made yogurt and forest fruits. (Yes, he had the sense to batch cookand make enough for two days)
Wednesday: Beef and spinach bake. Home made rice pudding.
Thursday: Beef and spinach bake. (batch cooking again) Don't know what he has in mind for dessert but he has bought lots of bananas and pears.
Friday: Fish.(Don't know what he intends to do but he is planning a trip into the fish market.)
Saturday: Fish.
He also made this breakfast for me on Sunday morning:
| My breakfast with tomato and chilli bread with seeds |
In case you are wondering, it is dry cured bacon from a local butcher, fried tomatoes and home made (yes he does bread as well) tomato and chilli bread with seeds.
The problem is that he seems just as capable as I am in the kitchen. Let's hope that I can manage the admin etc. just as well when I try my hand at that!

Good luck to your husband in the kitchen he sounds like he's quite the chef :)
Wow well done Peter! What an awesome meal plan, and so much homemade!
The casserole looks amazing! :)
I am insanely jealous of your worktop space! Love the sound of the sausage casserole altho I think my husband would shoot me if I put fruit in it! ;) Have a lovely week x
Impressive swapping. My OH's a farmer, so there's no way I'm trying that! Apart from that i reckon it would do him good to plan, buy and cook food for the week while looking after a toddler etc.
