A Country Walk and a Plate of Stew

Like most grandmothers, I dote! Looking after grandchildren at the weekend, I left the boys with my husband and took my little grandaughter for a walk down the lane where she lives. We took a camera with us so she could take photos showing signs of spring. Here is what she found:
First of all we found a little batch of crocuses growing wild  in the grass verge down the lane.

then a few snowdrops

and this single cellandine.

As we walked on we found the stream further down the lane was swollen

and she was absolutely thrilled to get this picture with its trees reflected in the water.

By the time we got back it was time to put the dumplings into the stew we had made and have our wonderful stew and dumpling casserole.A lovely way to spend a morning!
